SysInfo BKF Viewer is a free utility for opening, viewing, and reading Windows Backup (BKF) files without the original backup application. It supports healthy and corrupt BKF files created by Windows NTBackup and Symantec Backup Exec. The software supports BKF files of any size and has no file-count restriction. Users can add a backup file, scan its contents, and preview stored files and folders. Dual scanning modes help inspect files with different levels of corruption. The preview displays file names, sizes, and modification dates and times. It can preview more than 200 file formats. An advanced search feature helps locate BKF files on the computer, including corrupt backup files. The viewer reads backup contents without altering the original data. It is useful for checking older Windows backup files, viewing XP BKF files on newer Windows systems, or examining inaccessible backup data. SysInfo BKF Viewer supports Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Windows Server 2008 and 2012, and other Windows versions, in 32-bit and 64-bit environments. Requirements include a Pentium-class processor, 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended), and 512 GB minimum disk space. To use the software, launch it as administrator, click Open, and select a healthy or corrupt BKF file. Choose a scanning mode, review the scanned data in the preview panel, and browse file and folder contents. Users can scan a selected range of the BKF file to inspect a specific portion of backup data now. The free version allows users to open and preview BKF data. Saving recovered backup files requires upgrading to the paid version. The viewer is designed for Windows and does not support macOS or Linux.
